나는 배우고 있습니다
밖으로 드러나는 행위보다
인간 자신이 먼저임을

내 자신의 최대치에 나를 비교해야 한다는 것을

인생은 무슨 사건이 일어났는가에
달린 것이 아니라
일어난 사건에 어떻게 대처 하느냐에
달려 있다는 것을
무엇을 아무리 얇게 베어낸다 해도
거기에는 언제나 양면이 있다는 것을
나는 배우고 있습니다
사랑을 가슴속에 넘치게 담고 있으면서도
이를 나타낼 줄을 모르는 사람들이 있음을
나는 배우고 있습니다
나에게도 분노 할 권리는 있으나
타인에 대해 몰인정하고 잔인하게
대할 권리는 없다는 것을
나는 배우고 있습니다
우리가 아무리 멀리 떨어져 있어도
진정한 우정은 끊임없이 두터워진다는 것을
나는 배우고 있습니다
그리고 사랑도 이와 같다는 것을......
내가 바라는 방식대로 나를 사랑하지 않는다 해서
나의 모든 것을 다해 당신을
사랑하지 않아도 좋다는 것이 아님을

또 나는 배우고 있습니다
아무리 좋은 친구라 해도
때때로 그들이 나를 아프게 하고
그렇다고 하더라도
그들을 용서해야 한다는 것을....
환경이 영향을 미친다 하더라도
내가 어떤 사람이 되는가 하는 것을
나는 배우고 있습니다
우리들이 서로 다툰다고 해서
서로가 사랑하지 않는게 아님을...
그리고 우리들이 서로 다투지 않는다고 해서
서로 사랑하는게 아니라는 것도
나는 배우고 있습니다
두 사람이 한 가지 사물을 바라보면서도
보는 것은 완전히 다르다는 것도
나는 배우고 있습니다
그리고 또 나는 배우고 있습니다
앞과 뒤를 계산하지 않고 자신에게 정직한 사람이
결국은 우리가 살아가는데서 앞선다는 것을
내가 알지도 보지도 못한 사람에 의하여
내 인생의 진로가 변할 수도 있다는 것을
나는 배우고 있습니다
글을 쓰는일이 대화를 하는 것과 마찬가지로
내 마음의 아픔을 덜어 준다는 것을
나는 배웠습니다
타인의 마음을 상하게 하지 않는다는 것과
나의 믿는 바를 위해 내 입장을 분명히 한다는 것
이 두 가지 일을 엄격하게 구분 하는 것이
얼마나 어렵다는 것을
나는 배우고 있습니다
사랑하는 것과...... 사랑 받는 것을....
